Port Connectivity Review
The BPA is preparing to conduct a review of port connectivity that examines the vital infrastructure upgrades needed to enhance surface access, digital connectivity, energy capacity and related needs, outside of the port estate.
Ports are responsible for their own infrastructure but they do rely on publicly managed and funded infrastructure, for example, road and rail links and energy and digital networks. We are therefore seeking to compile an inventory of improvements to connectivity infrastructure required by ports. Through this exercise, we will be considering the progress made since the Department for Transport’s Port Connectivity Study two years ago; broadening this out to all ports around the UK, not just England, as well as looking at digital connectivity, energy capacity, in addition to other needs.
This will be a major UK-wide exercise for the BPA and we welcome all ports’ participation.
