Commenting on today’s leaked draft of the Labour Party’s General Election Manifesto, the British Ports Association Chief Executive Richard Ballantyne welcomed the proposals to increase trade and attention on port development.

Mr Ballantyne said:-

“We welcome the Labour Party’s focus on boosting trade. 95% of the UK’s international trade is carried through UK ports, which are run successfully and independent of Government.

We look forward to more details on the proposed feasibility study for port developments, given that there are already thriving ports in those locations.”
