Blyth's Energy Central

Port of Blyth is a key partner in the Energy Central initiative in Blyth that aims to attract world leading offshore renewable energy companies to the region through the provision of leading port services, world class testing facilities and public sector assistance in relation to development opportunities and incentives.

Together with the Northumberland County Council’s development arm Advance Northumberland, the Port has been busy developing nearly 200 HA of strategic, quay linked development sites aimed exclusively at the renewables sector.

In recognising the importance to all our futures of renewable energy, the Energy Central partnership is hoping to play a leading role in protecting the planet and tackling the effects of climate change whilst taking advantage of the significant opportunities provided by offshore wind and other renewable energy sources.
