Board member contribution, performance appraisal and feedback Thu, 24 Sep 2020 10:30
As many of you will know the BPA has for a number of years been providing a series of workshops for executive and non-executive board members. This has enabled board members to engage in conversations and exercises about how effective both their boards are and their own contribution to that effectiveness.
These workshops have been led by Tim Clarke who has worked for organisations in the public, private, not-for-profit and the charitable sectors during his 30 years of participating in and leading boards. Tim may be known to some of you from his Chairmanship of Harwich Haven Authority and his more recent tenure when he has been the Chair of Port Skills and Safety Ltd. Tim is also an accredited Executive Coach working with boards, senior teams and individual executives to improve their performance.
We are exploring new ways of ensuring new and existing board members of trust ports have a way of accessing the programme and we have developed a series of ‘interactive interviews’ which will combine some of the material from the workshops with the opportunity to raise issues which emerge from your board membership and look at ways of improving how we all work together in the board environment.
We can therefore announce that a series of three separate virtual webinar coffee mornings will be held in September. These sessions are up to an hour in duration and will provide a blend of presentation from Tim, an update from the BPA on the current environment for board members and a chance to explore board related issues. The workshops are all independent of each other so there is no need for board members to attend all three.
This Trust Port Board Member Governance Virtual Workshop will be held on Thursday 24 September from 10:30 to 11:30.
It will be facilitated by Tim Clarke, former Chair of Harwich Haven Authority and Port Skills and Safety Ltd.
Although the workshop is aimed at board members, CEOs and senior operations and finance managers/directors may also find this workshop useful. The workshop is free to attend for BPA members and there’s no limit on how many people from a port can register.
For non BPA members, it will cost £30 +VAT to attend.
