The Maritime Coastguard Agency has published a Marine Information Note confirming that its latest Port Marine Safety Code port and operator Compliance Exercise is now open and the deadline for submissions is 31 March 2021. The MCA’s MIN 641 is attached with all the details.

This is the exercise the MCA undertakes every three years and their compliance team are seeking a written statement (now only in an electronic format) from all UK Statutory Harbour Authority and other marine facility Duty Holders confirming their compliance with the PMSC.

This is a cross-industry exercise which we would strongly encourage ports and operators to participate in, firstly as evidence of their own safety compliance performance but also to ensure the credibility of the industry supported PMSC document and arrangements.

The PMSC itself and accompanying Guide to Good Practice are available here. For further assistance and information, the MCA’s contact details are included in MIN 641

Finally we will be running more of our PMSC Duty Holder training sessions in the coming months and will provide further information shortly.
