Lighting the Way with LEDs

This year (2020), Aberdeen Harbour launched a programme to replace all external lighting in the port with LED lighting heads. This will involve changing more than 700 lights, reducing the port’s electricity consumption by 54% each year.

More than £300,000 has been invested in the project. The Harbour is aiming to upcycle as many of the older lights as technically possible, and customers on private quayside bases will also be encouraged to switch to LED lighting.
