The Port Infrastructure Group

The Port Infrastructure Group is comprised of senior port engineers from ports across the UK. The Group meets at a different port twice a year, touring new developments and receiving technical presentations from industry. The Group offers port engineers the opportunity to meet each other, share good practice and discuss common challenges. Members typically meet the evening before the visit for a meal and are usually away by the afternoon.

Join the Port Infrastructure Group

Group membership is free and open to any engineer working for a port that is a member of the British Ports Association or the UK Major Ports Group. Please contact Mark Simmonds if you are interested in joining the group.

Upcoming Visits

The next visit will take place in Spring/Summer 2019 be announced in January 2019.

Presenting to the Group

The Group typically recieves around three technical presentations from industry at each visit. These are sometimes grouped around a particular theme. There is usually a strong interest in this opportunity and so we cannot guarantee anyone a slot. Presenters are welcome to join the Group for the duration of the visit although we ask that no more than two representatives attend. We aim to prioritise our Associate Members but the first priority is topics that are of interest and relevant to our port members. Please contact Mark Simmonds for more information about potential future presentation opportunities.
