Workshop on Shore Power

  • Date:
    8 February 2023
Workshop on Shore Power

This event is open to port members of the BPA, UKMPG or full members of the UK Chamber of Shipping.

As the UK government looks to develop shore power as a clean energy solution for shipping, this workshop will bring together experts from across the shipping and port sector to explore the potential benefits and challenges of its adoption. Through a series of interactive discussions, we will delve into considerations surrounding infrastructural capacity, funding, and sector-specific requirements to consider how shore power might be deployed in practice to best support the transition to a low-carbon maritime industry.

This members-only workshop will be jointly hosted by the UK Chamber of Shipping, British Ports Association, and UK Major Ports Group, and is a must-attend for anyone working in the shipping and port sector interested in the future of sustainable shipping in the UK. Join us for a unique opportunity to help shape the future of shore power in the UK and ensure that it meets the shared needs of our sectors.

Note that the event will be preceded by the meeting of the joint Ports – Shipping Environmental Working Group from 12:45 to 15:00.

Although the joint meeting earlier in the day will have virtual capabilities, the afternoon workshop will be in-person only.
