We are pleased to announce that we have another series of governance workshops for trust non-executive board members. This has enabled board members to engage in conversations and exercises about how effective both their boards are and also their own contribution to that effectiveness.
These workshops are led by Tim Clarke who has worked for organisations in the public, private, not-for-profit and the charitable sectors during his 30 years of participating in and leading boards. Tim may be known to some of you from his Chairmanship of Harwich Haven Authority and his more recent tenure when he has been the Chair of Port Skills and Safety. Tim is also an accredited Executive Coach working with boards, senior teams and individual executives to improve their performance.
We are exploring new ways of ensuring new and existing board members of trust ports have a way of accessing the programme and we have developed a series of ‘interactive interviews’ which will combine some of the material from the workshops with the opportunity to raise issues which emerge from your board membership and look at ways of improving how we all work together in the board environment.
The second session in this series explores how we contribute to making our boards work, setting strategy, the challenges boards face and what new board members need to be aware of, including their induction.
