IMO Briefing

The BPA is hosting a webinar on the developments from the recent meetings of the IMO’s Intersessional Working Group on the reduction of GHG emissions from ships (ISWG-GHG) and the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC). 

This session will cover the outcomes of discussions on the development of a basket of candidate mid- and long-term GHG reduction measures to meet the targets of the 2023 IMO GHG Strategy, including proposals for a global pricing mechanism. Other areas of interest include discussions on the Life Cycle GHG Assessment (LCA) of marine fuels and measures to improve the energy efficiency of ships.
