As UK ports strive to decarbonise their operations, the demand for onshore power is set to rise exponentially. The pressure on the grids supplying power to these ports is already substantial. By 2030, UK ports are expected to need an additional 4.3 TWh of energy to meet current shore power demands without accounting for any future increase in port calls.
