Yesterday the Welsh Government announced initial details of the awards for their Ports Development Fund.
We are delighted to announce that there have been eight successful bids from Welsh ports along with the four bids the BPA’S – Welsh Ports Group submitted.
These four bids were for:
- A study on the future of the Welsh ports and harbour sector moving into the digital age,
- A port capability directory website
- An economic impact assessment for Welsh ports and maritime sector
- And a Welsh Ports Reception during London International Shipping Week.
The funding will be allocated and spent in this financial year.
However, there still remains more than £1m of funding still available and under-utilised, and therefore the Welsh Government have confirmed to us that they will open a short window for additional/new bids shortly.
We will circulate details of the revised guidance and application forms when they are available and would therefore encourage our members to think about whether you have any further bids you may wish to submit.
