The British Ports Association (BPA) has confirmed that the third and final ‘event partner’ for its 2026 Conference and Exhibition at the Port of Dover on 21 – 22 October will be global leader in energy technology, Schneider Electric.
Schneider Electric designs and implements technology and networks that drive efficiency in buildings and infrastructure developments. Bringing together intelligent devices, software, AI-powered systems and digital services, alongside expert advice, the company has 150,000+ employees and one million partners, in over 100 countries.
The company is widely recognised as a global leader in corporate sustainability, holding the number-one rank on major indexes, and is a front-runner in developing energy management systems for ports. Combining electrification, decarbonisation and digitalisation, including the advancement of shore power solutions, Schneider Electric is working at the forefront of the push to create ‘smart ports’ of the future.
Schneider Electric will take to the main stage of the BPA Conference to add a valuable contribution to the debate around future port strategies and technologies. As part of its headline sponsorship, Schneider Electric is hosting the Drinks Reception, Gala Dinner and BPA Awards evening on Thursday 22 October, at Port of Dover’s Cruise Terminal One.
Richard Ballantyne OBE, chief executive of the British Ports Association, said; “Decarbonisation and digitalisation are both key drivers in modernising our ports and ensuring that port operations run efficiently. With growing demand for innovative energy solutions, such as shore power and multi-energy generation hubs, the industry is keen to explore new ways to employ the latest technology.
“Schneider Electric has an impressive track record and has been instrumental in the development of some exciting global projects and we are looking forward to working with them as an official event partner at BPA 2026.”
David Pownall, Vice President Power Systems from Schneider Electric said: “Schneider Electric is thrilled to be an event partner at this year’s BPA conference at the Port of Dover. As the maritime sector continues its vital transition, we’re excited to showcase how electrification and digital innovation can accelerate the decarbonisation of ports. We look forward to meeting with industry partners to demonstrate how we can serve as a trusted energy technology partner, helping ports become more sustainable, efficient, and future-ready.”
Schneider Electric is also a member of the New Energies Coalition, committed to transforming ports into intelligent, data-driven clean energy hubs, that can drastically reduce the maritime industry’s environmental impact and build a more sustainable future.
It is anticipated that the 2026 BPA Annual Conference & Exhibition will be attended by more than 400 delegates, with around 45 exhibiting companies taking part, from across the ports and maritime sector.
