Super Shipment for Port of Tyne

Docking at the Port of Tyne, the bulk cargo vessel St Dimitrios has sailed straight in to the record books for discharging the biggest cargo of wood-pellets ever handled at the Port.

In total 62,000 tonnes of wood-pellets will be unloaded over a five day operation – destined for Drax Power station in North Yorkshire.

Coast to Capital support Shoreham Port with business acquisition

In April this year, Shoreham Port added the serviced business centre Maritime House to its property portfolio. This was made possible by a generous Local Growth Fund contribution of £1.1 million from Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership.

Coast to Capital are a government formed initiative that provide leadership, investment and business support to generate sustainable and inclusive growth in the region. Their contribution to the area enables the local economy to grow successfully and has had a lasting impact on the Port.

New Chairman for Montrose Port Authority

Montrose Port Authority has announced the appointment of a new Chairman of its Board of Trustees.

John Carmichael has been vice chairman of the Port for the last year, holding the position of a non-executive member for seven years prior to this. His knowledge has seen him advise on a range of port management matters, with particular emphasis on infrastructure and development.

Port of Cromarty Firth Services Ltd awarded ISO9001

Port of Cromarty Firth Services Ltd, the independent supply chain services company operating at the heart of the Port of Cromarty Firth, has been awarded the new ISO 9001:2015 standard for customer service and quality management by QMS International Ltd.

ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organisations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
