BPA responds to MoJ FOI consultation

A copy of the response made by the British Ports Association and the UK Major Ports Group to the Ofcom review of spectrum usage in the UK is attached. This raises fundamental questions about future spectrum allocation and maritime safety.

BPA response to Government's Border Review

The BPA regards the Prime Minister’s announcement in July of a review of border controls and the possible formation of a Unified Border Force as a very significant opportunity to combine a strong border with a trade facilitation agenda aimed at moving passengers and freight efficiently and safely. BPA Response to Planning White Paper

The BPA has given its views on the government’s White Paper “Planning for a Sustainable Future”, which represents an important part of some fundamental changes to the planning regime affecting ports.

Scottish Parliament amends Habitats Directive

On 22nd June the Scottish Executive announced that it would be introducing a Scottish Statutory Instrument (SSI) to amend the Conservation (Natural Habitats, &c.) Amendment (No.2) (Scotland) Regulations.

The amendments will alter the original Conservation (Habitats &c.) Regulations 1994 so as to extend the application of Part IV of the Directive to all plans or projects.
