Associate Membership

While only port authorities can join the British Ports Association as full members, we do have an associate category for related industries to join the Association.

What members get

Associate Members receive the BPA monthly update, which summarises all the main developments in port related policy. We like to invite our Associate Members to present at a many of our groups, meetings and conferences so if you are interested in joining the BPA on that level please get in touch.

Associates also receive invitations to the BPA Annual Lunch and the BPA Conference. The Annual Lunch is attended by representatives from across the maritime industry. The Conference brings together ports representatives from all over the UK and covers a range of port related issues and Associates are entitled to discounted rates. Both are unique events in the sector and represent an excellent way of keeping in touch with the key people and developments in the industry. They provide invaluable networking opportunities and have grown into a major annual event for the sector. The 2010 Conference took place in October in Torquay and the 2011 event will be held in Orkney on 21 and 22 September 2011.

We also regularly ask Associate Members to speak at our Conference and present at many of our working groups. The feedback from our existing associate members is that this represents an unrivalled opportunity to meet key contacts within the industry.

Associate Members are free to contact the BPA about port related issues and have access to the Members Area of our website which includes archives of all working group meeting minutes.
